Family Law Cares, TYLA Sponsor Session on How to Do A Pro Bono Divorce

Ever wanted to take a family law pro bono case but don’t have any experience in Texas family law? On Friday, July 26, a free CLE session will teach everything you need to know to handle a pro bono divorce case.

“How to Do A Pro Bono Divorce” will take place from 12 Noon until 4PM at the Belo Mansion, 2101 Ross Avenue in Dallas.

This four-hour CLE session (.5 ethics) is sponsored by the Texas Young Lawyers Association, Family Law Cares, the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers and the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program.

Everyone is invited to participate, including law students, recent law school graduates who have not yet found a job and young associates of local law firms.

“Our goal is to enlist as many lawyers as possible to meet the demand for indigent legal services in Texas,” says Sherri Evans, Chair of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. “In 2011, 58,000 Texas families qualified for free legal services but only about 20% were served. We hope to inspire more attorneys to accept pro bono cases and use technology to connect them with those in need.”
